Your network is like compound interest

I’ve been thinking a lot this year about the relationships you build over time.

Some of the best opportunities I’ve had recently have come from people I met years ago. An old manager sending me a role. Former colleagues bringing me in to collaborate. One introduction leading to another. Even someone I met at an event nearly ten years ago creating an opportunity now.

None of it felt strategic at the time. We were working together, going for drinks, meeting at events, sharing ideas and generally getting on with each other.

I had no idea some of those relationships would still be opening doors years later.

Turns out I was building a network without even realising it.
